2024 election was a referendum on woke insanity
Anyone here remember the Silent Majority?
The 2.0 upgrade has arrived, and with a new name: the Normal Majority.
Post-election data show that inflation and illegal immigration were the two main reasons given for voting against Kamala Harris (in line with pre-election polls, btw). Certainly the price of groceries and the opening of the border motivated many voters, but the third item on the list points to the deeper reality of the emergence of a new national zeitgeist.
The third issue that motivated voters is culture; in particular, transgenderism.
It’s the culture, stupid
Trump’s victory in both the Electoral College as well as the popular vote serve as a repudiation of the woke worldview. Politics is downstream from culture, and America has had four years to digest exactly what woke Democrat/teachers union family values look like up front and personal.
In 2020, a common refrain from the losing Republican side was, “The country will now experience the unhinged woke policies of the Left completely untethered. By the time 2024 rolls around they’ll be begging for the adults in the room to take over.”
And that’s exactly what happened. We can thank our lucky stars that after the four years there still remains a country to save. Biden-Harris brought the country to its knees. All that remained was the coup de grace should the Democrats claim another four years to “finish the job.”
As Elon Musk said, “If Trump doesn’t win this election, it’s the last election we’re gonna have.” A trifle hyperbolic… but who are we mere mortals to question one of the smartest men alive?
The Normal Majority went to the polls and flipped a tumescent middle finger at the woke mind virus that has “marched through the institutions.” Once infected, this virus turns into a cancer — killing the host body. Case in point: the college campus… and a Democrat party now at Stage 4.
In its essence, the woke disease is nihilism. It is the consummate expression of self-othering, where the society turns on itself. It is a collective psychosis. And don’t kid yourself, though the election qualified as a “red wave,” fully 71 million Americans voted for Harris — for the woke nihilism that afflicts the party.
It preaches hatred of western civilization; dismantling the nuclear family; destroying the differences between the sexes; eliminating our national borders; decriminalizing… crime itself; and in general, tearing down all our political, economic and cultural institutions.
This is a recipe for chaos and anarchy -- obviously (as Tucker is fond of saying) -- but to be replaced with… what?
On Nov. 5 the Normal Majority gave voice to the new zeitgeist: enough is enough.
Enough of the war on normalcy (normal – that which functions according to its design).
Enough of a news media that stopped doing its job years ago. A non-functioning fourth estate that takes its marching orders from the deep state within the 3-letter agencies; a latter-day Pravda.
Enough of female athletes knocked senseless from a volleyball smashed by a man pretending to be a woman.
Enough of lawfare directed against political enemies and everyday Americans who chafe at reprehensible woke policies imposed on their personal and professional lives.
Enough of forced vaccinations, lockdowns and restrictions on assembly.
Enough of this “toxic masculinity” nonsense. Enough of censorship. Enough of de-platforming.
And surely, surely, enough of Drag Queen Story Hours.
Old-school liberal, meet new illiberal Left
Sixties’ liberals, the boomer children, opposed the war, rallied under the banner of “free speech,” condemned FBI infiltration into domestic protest groups as well as CIA-orchestrated foreign government overthrows. We “questioned authority” and marched to end racial discrimination. The notion of surgically transforming boys into girls and vice-versa, a diabolical and depraved practice, wasn’t even a thought in the mind of a Gore Vidal or even an Anton LaVey.
Today’s Democrat party, home of the illiberal Left, promotes the antitheses of these ideals. The Kamala voter demands WWIII-threatening war in Europe (Ukraine) and racial segregation (racial preferences, safe spaces, race-specific dorms, graduation ceremonies etc.).
He/she/zhe surrenders curiosity to the ordained truths of the State-controlled media, reserving skepticism for conservatives and various and sundry “deplorables.” She is obedient to government “thought police,” joining the surveillance state in demanding censorship of “malinformation” (note the semantics: not disinformation — which is presumed false information, i.e. lies or propaganda — but “bad” information, i.e. truths proscribed because they threaten and violate established regime narratives).

A Kamala voter not only agrees that transgenderism represents a new phase in the flowering of the human condition — but views it as a fundamental human right. Despite being given the opportunity, she declined to walk back her support for taxpayer provided transgender surgery for incarcerated illegal immigrant criminals. Even that is not a bridge too far for the woke-infected.
A Kamala voter believes national borders are an anachronism. She believes migration across any national border is a human right. During their reign of terror, Biden-Harris pulled out all the stops to maximize the number of aliens entering the country, sans vetting — going so far as to provide an auto-asylum phone app (CBP) to facilitate circumventing the border crossing by actually flying them in.
The Normal Majority rejects ALL these things.

Who are the notable outsiders that joined Trump? Elon Musk, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Tulsi Gabbard. A murderer’s row of talent and brainpower.
Kamala Harris’s opposition-party endorsers include neocon Liz Cheney, who co-led the infamous Jan. 6 committee stitch-up, and afterwards lost her House reelection primary bid by 37 points. General Mark “I-want-to-understand-white-rage” Milley, the woke former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, surprised no one by also throwing his support behind the losing candidate.
Kamala’s celebrity posse? Beyonce. Katy Perry. Cardi B.

Yes, politics is downstream from culture. If this is an example of what Kamala welcomes as a worthy endorsement for her bid to become the nation’s Commander in Chief, is it any wonder that normal Americans gave her the pink slip?

Even if sensible people stopped paying attention to our garbage popular culture years ago, teens and tweeners still make up the primary audience for the annual Grammy TV broadcasts.
Observing the Democrats’ post-mortem hand-wringing, they have yet to read the memo. Ultimately, what the likes of Jimmy Kimmel and Steven Colbert fail to understand is that Left is no longer cool. They can’t sit at the cool kids lunch table. Ditto the Saturday Night Live crew.
Conservatism is now anti-establishment. MAGA is cool. Victim-feminist scolds and “lean in” beta males are most definitely not.

An exit poll by Blueprint, a Democrat polling firm, confirms the results shown in the chart above: inflation was the single biggest factor influencing the outcome of the. election. Not a majority, but a plurality of the voters agreed on this. Immigration came in second. These are issues that directly affect the lives of most of us, especially in the middle class. Though apparently they don't affect wealthy movie stars and similar bubble-dwellers. For normal people, though -- the "normal majority" -- things are too expensive, but at the same time we don't usually qualify for hand-outs.
Speaking of celebrities, another encouraging signal from the elections was the evident failure of the populace to be swayed by Hollywood types and the like who have no claim to expertise, but who nevertheless want to tell us how we should think. Using their fame as a substitute for wisdom and knowledge, apparently.
Perhaps the public has grown up.
